Bombon (El Perro)
December 14th, 2005
Bombon (El Perro) is a must see. The film is set in Patagonia and focuses on an unemployed man who inherits a pedigree Argentinian Dogo ( they’re banned over here in the uk)…. and then follows their journey through the amazing landscape, dog shows, and argentinian attitude.
For once I’m in agreement with the people over at The Guardian who are rating this at 9/10.
Sin City
June 6th, 2005
Sin City. I loved it. Stylish comic book noir, hijacked straight from pen and ink. The pace is right, a slow steady stream of consicousness voice overs with explosions of energy and violence. White blood, indestructible anti-heros, evil twisted bad guys. What more could you want?
Kingdom of Heaven
May 22nd, 2005
…. made it in time to watch all the trailers. Kingdom of Heaven I trusted The Guardian viewers rating, maybe I should have taken a little more heed of the actual review. Oohhh well. Plenty of swinging swords, arrows flying about. Tooo dammn stereotypical. Seen it all before. Switch the brain off, watch violence. You’ll like it if that’s your thing. Gladiator was the first film to do this right, and it spawned too many similar attempts. Kingdom of Heaven, is one of these, thankfully it was streets ahead of Troy.
